Reduction relief is a method used to produce multi-colored prints from a single block of wood, linoleum, or hard foam. Here I used my favorite Shina wood - fine-grained plywood from Hokkaido, the northern-most island of Japan. I carved into the block, and then carved some more after each color was printed, eliminating areas that were not intended to be printed in any particular color.
